“To understand the soul of a horse is the closest we humans can come to knowing perfection.”

Originally from Ohio, my grandfather was in the Harness Racing Industry. So my exposure to horses began at a very early age and continued through high school. After several years away from horses I knew that my passion for them was as strong as ever and decided to pursue a career that would allow me to share that passion and increase people’s awareness of the importance of equine wellness.

Currently I'm working on my Level 3 in Parelli Natural Horsemanship. I ride Western and English and started studying Dressage two years ago with Susannah Cord of Valley View, TX.  I am the proud owner of two horses, Casanova and Prince.

Casanova is my 13 year old Quarterhorse and he does it all! He is my Level 3 Parelli partner and loves to work cattle, trail ride, jump and has really taken to the Dressage lessons!

Prince Firestorm is my coming three year old, Friesian Georgian Grande. He will be my future Dressage partner and is already doing Level 2 Parelli ground skills.

I received my Massage Therapy Certification from Kekino Massage Academy in Plano, TX. In addition to Therapeutic Swedish, I am also is certified in the following modalities : Hot Stone Massage / Pregnancy Massage / Clinical Massage / Trigger Point /  Myofascial Release.

My Equine Sports Massage certification was received from Mary Schreiber at Equissage in Round Hill, VA. Equissage is the oldest and leading trainer of animal massage therapists in the world. Since 1991, Equissage has graduated more than 10,000 technicians, from every state in the US and 20 different countries around the world.

I am very grateful to Mary for giving me my first glance into equine massage and I continue to further my education in this growing industry. I feel it’s important to incorporate whatever is needed to fit the situation and treat the “whole” body.

I am also a student and practitioner of Healing Touch for Animals. I went to the Carol Komitor’s, Level 1 program in early 2008 and will attend Levels 2-4 in 2009. Healing Touch uses bio-field therapies-recognized by the National Institute of Health – to integrate, balance and clear the energy body. It works by releasing endorphins to establish a deeper relaxation and state of being, allowing the body to function at a greater level. By allowing muscles to relax, circulation is increased, sending more oxygen, nutrients, and hormones in to the body to support healing. This technique works on all levels of the body: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. These techniques allow the animals to come into a deeper instinctual presence and knowing of their body.

Currently I work for Chiropractic Wellness Center of McKinney, TX and see equine clients in the evenings and weekends.
